It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

With less than a week until Christmas, it is a time when you may be feeling a little frazzled running around making last minute preparations. Or perhaps you are counting the days until you have some downtime with your loved ones. December is also a time for many businesses to reflect on the year gone by – not to mention the flurry of year-end activities that need to be completed before your out of office message goes live!
Here we take a quick look back at what our 2017 looked like. The start of the year saw a change of leadership at the helm of the business with the appointment of Anthony Page to the role of Managing Director. With a new vision and ambitious plans to develop and grow the business, one of the first decisions Anthony took was to create a dedicated Business Development role. James Porter who heads up the Marine & Aviation division (KHMA) was appointed the role of Business Development Director in February. Both Anthony and James have spent time throughout the year attending key networking events and high profile industry shows such as Monaco Yacht Show, to build wider awareness of the business and the wide ranging services on offer to clients and advisers.
Putting clients at the centre of everything we do has always been our primary focus, and will continue to drive our plans in 2018. Our team place great emphasis on building long lasting relations with clients and invest time to clearly understand their goals and aspirations. This approach ensures we can create truly bespoke solutions designed to meet individual needs. Whilst client satisfaction is sufficient for us to know we have done our jobs properly, to be publicly acknowledged by industry peers in the form of a number of awards nominations this year was definitely the icing on the cake. We will have to wait patiently until next year to see if we have been lucky enough to win, but just to be shortlisted for “Trust Company of the Year – Boutique” and “Family Office of the Year” is reward in itself, and a testament to the hard work the KHT team put in on a daily basis to ensure expectations are exceeded. The cherry on the top comes with great news to end the year, with us being awarded the “Best Aircraft and Yacht Corporate Services Provider” for the second year running by World Commerce Review.
As part of our growth plans for the business we undertook a brand refresh project earlier in the year, which updated the look and feel of the KHT brand identity. This was done to ensure we continue to appeal to a diverse and ever expanding global client base. The project culminated in November with the launch of our new website, we hope you like it. There is lots more content planned for the New Year, so be sure to keep visiting the site and keep up-to-date with all our news, case studies, articles and planned events.
Our time has also been spent supporting local community events in particular our sponsorship of the Junior Section (under 16’s) of King Edward Bay Golf Club which supports our desire to provide assistance for young sporting talent within the Island. The team were very excited to rub shoulders with sporting royalty in June when we sponsored Craig’s Heartstrong Foundation’s annual dinner event with guest speaker Graeme Souness in attendance.
With goodwill very much in our minds, we have decided this year to donate to another very deserving local charity – ‘Rebecca House Children’s Hospice’ in lieu of Christmas cards.
So to 2018, and what that will have in store for us – only time will tell. We hope we will find out what the full impact of Brexit holds, and no doubt we will be busy keeping abreast of the ever-changing regulatory landscape. But whatever it throws at us – we will be here to offer our clients a professional, reliable and personal service.
