Knox House Trust (KHT) was pleased to recently donate a cheque to Macmillan Cancer Support for £915.00. The funds were raised from Friday dress down contributions from staff, who had decided on the chosen charity collectively.
Speaking on behalf of the team at KHT, Voirrey Collister (Head of Private Clients & Operations) said; “We are delighted to have been able to provide a donation to Macmillan Cancer Support, specifically locally here on Island. Macmillan is a wonderful charity that provides much needed support to those touched by an illness that we may all be affected by during our lives, whether that be personally or through experience of a family or friend being diagnosed.”
She continued; “I would like to thank all KHT staff members for their kindness throughout 2017 to assist with this great cause. We wish Macmillan all the best with their continued fundraising and support, and commend them on the incredible work they undertake”
Macmillan Cancer Support within the Island provides practical, medical, emotional and financial support in addition to a continual push for better cancer care. Speaking on behalf of the charity, Local Fundraising volunteer, Jan Bell commented; “We have a long track record of working in partnership with Nobles Hospital and other Cancer Service providers on the Isle of Man. We have funded Breast, Colorectal and Oncology Macmillan Nurses as well as other key posts which provide vital support to patients and to the smooth-running of cancer services on Island.”
Jan continued; “We’re very grateful to the staff at Knox House Trust for their efforts in raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support which will help us to continue supporting those living with and beyond cancer and their carers.”
