Posted On: 27 Oct 2020
The team at Knox House Trust were once again delighted to lend their support to Breast Cancer Now Volunteers in the Isle of Man for their recent street stall event as part of their Breast Cancer Awareness Month’s events.
The stall event which was held in the Island’s capital Douglas offered shoppers a fantastic collection of cakes, sweet cones and hand-crafted gifts during the 6 hour event.
Speaking about the event, Rebecca Duke (Manager – Family Office) said; “we were pleased to be able to get involved and support this fantastic charity and the great work that they do. Our contribution consisted of pink themed sweet cones which the team made up from locally purchased items, along with themed cupcakes, though the credit for those must go to local bakery Grandma’s Kitchen.”
Angie Aire MBE, chairwoman of Breast Cancer Now Isle of Man added her comments; “Thank you once again for your tremendous support. We truly appreciated all the delicious cakes and sweetie cones you provided for our stall. We raised a magnificent £2,740 (most ever!) on a very wet day, however the rain brought everyone into town!”
In the Isle of Man the charity is run entirely by volunteers to help promote the work and research of Breast Cancer Now in the UK. The funds raised on Island enable ground breaking research to continue by the charity to stop people losing their lives to the disease. Their mission is that by 2050 anyone who develops breast cancer will live and live well, but only by undertaking events such as this can we work together to make this happen.
