Knox House Trust (KHT) was delighted to be able to provide sponsorship of kit to local junior football team, Corinthians AFC. The local club sent two of their U-10 teams off Island to the UK International Cup tournament which took place over the Easter holidays.
The tournament saw teams from across the UK and Europe compete across a number of age categories at St. George’s Park, the home of the England national football team’s training base. Both Corinthians AFC teams competed well against leading football academy sides and other youth teams. Reports back from players and parents described the tournament as a fantastic sporting opportunity for the young players to compete in an International tournament with the top class facilities that St. Georges Park offers.
KHT Managing Director, Anthony Page, who is involved in the Island’s junior football both as a referee and a parent, commented: “We try to support our local community whenever we can, particularly junior sports with its benefits for health and wellbeing. As a parent to one of the team’s players, it was also a very proud moment for me to see my son, Joe, play this level of football in such a prestigious environment. Well done to all to who took part.”
