Wear it Pink Event Success
Posted On: 28 Oct 2021
Following on from our “Wear it Pink” event on Friday 22nd October, we are delighted to report that KHT raised £400.00 for Breast Cancer Now.
In addition to the team wearing pink attire on the day, the funds were raised through various events during the day which included, bingo, a cake bake sale and a tombola prize draw.
KHT Managing Director, Voirrey Coole said;
“KHT are regular supporters of Breast Cancer Now and have been involved with the Isle of Man branch for a number of years. All the team are always highly supportive of the “Wear it Pink” event, not just dressing up, but baking goodies and getting involved on the day. Our heartfelt thanks must also go to those who very kindly donated prizes for our Tombola which enabled us to raise these much need funds for the charity.”
On behalf of Breast Cancer Now, local Isle of Man volunteer, Sandy Denning added her comments saying:
“Thank you so much for holding a “Wear it Pink” day. Your continued support makes such a difference as breast cancer doesn’t stop for anything. This year, around 55,000 women and 370 men in the UK will hear the words ‘its breast cancer’ and around 11,500 women and 80 men will die from it.
You are helping to create a future where all that changes. A future where people affected by breast cancer get to watch their children grow up and create a lifetime of memories with the people they love. A future where there is more hope and less fear. We believe we can create a future where, by 2050, everyone diagnosed with breast cancer will live and will be supported to live well. With every bit of pink we wear, we’re making that future possible!”
She continued: “
“Thank you Knox House Trust for doing something great in Breast Cancer Awareness Month – by helping make life-saving research and life-changing care happen!”
