KHT Team Complete 2.6 Charity Challenge!
Posted On: 13 May 2020
The KHT team have never been people to shy away from a challenge, so when they heard that local charity, The Children’s Centre were undertaking a fundraising scheme known as the ‘2.6 challenge’, naturally they wanted to get involved!
The 2.6 Challenge campaign is the brainchild of the organisers behind many of the UK’s major mass-participation events – including the London marathon. Many charities rely on such high-profile events for vital income and currently face difficult times due to their cancellation because of the coronavirus.
The challenge launched on Sunday 26th April, the original date for the London Marathon and encourages participants to do something 2.6 or 26 related. Activities can be anything you like, such as undertaking a 26-minute exercise class, run or walk 2.6km or even get 26 people on a video call!
Wishing to offer further support to KHT’s chosen charity, The Children’s Centre, the team set out to walk 26 miles collectively within a week and help raise funds to enable the charity to continue their vital care and support to children, families and young adults within the Isle of Man.
Blessed with glorious weather and quieter than usual walking routes, the team completed the challenge. Voirrey Coole (Director – Private Clients & Operations) took part in the challenge and commented: “When we heard about the 2.6 challenge, myself and the team instantly wanted to find a way to get involved and take some positive action to support a local charity. It also served as an added way to ensure our team were taking their daily exercise and stepping away from their work to grab some fresh air and exercise!”
